Global Logistics Leader Selects Asentinel to Manage Telecom Expenses
Customer to Benefit from Asentinel's Optical Invoice Recognition Technology
MEMPHIS, Tennessee, May 10, 2006 -
One of the world's largest providers of supply
chain, shipping, delivery and related information services has selected Asentinel's patentpending
software for telecom expense management (TEM), David C. Perdue, Asentinel
CEO, announced today.
The company's multi-year, multi-million dollar contract with Asentinel will
result in a complete TEM solution to include invoice processing, order/change
management, inventory/asset management and Web-based reporting.
"This customer is a technology leader and an extremely IT-centric company. Its
sharp team has developed many applications to support and enhance its core business
needs. In fact, technological excellence is recognized as one of the keys to the company's
global success," said Perdue. "Now, the company has turned to Asentinel to apply that
same high-level technology to the organization's telecom expenses."
The customer, which employees more than 250,000 people worldwide, will take
advantage of one of Asentinel's newest modules, Optical Invoice Recognition (OIR).
OIR allows customers to receive all of their telecom invoices electronically, even from
those vendors who are unable to provide electronic billing.
"Before, our customers received an average of 90 percent of their vendor
invoices electronically. The other 10 percent were still paper invoices that needed to be
sorted through manually," said Perdue. "Asentinel has now created the means to ensure
our customers receive almost 100 percent of vendor invoices electronically with its OIR
technology. Without the stacks of paper invoices, employees can use their time more
efficiently and focus on strategic tasks instead of menial paperwork."
Asentinel offers a comprehensive telecom expense management software
package that integrates with the client's existing system. Written in Java, the software
automates the process of telecom invoice management in real time, analyzing every
invoice against vendor contracts, hidden costs, active inventory and flagging every
exception. Since these errors often recur each month and can go back for years, getting
an expedient return on investment from Asentinel is not difficult. In the long-term,
clients' ongoing telecom expenses also decline while internal processing time is greatly
reduced.
Asentinel's Web-based software has more than 50 cumulative years of
development behind it. Asentinel continues to grow its list of Fortune 1000 companies
and government entities that realize the power of automated telecom expense
management. For more information, visit Asentinel at www.asentinel.com.
